Ukrsotsbank traditionally sponsored the holding of the most prestigious sailing race in Ukraine — the Vadym Hetman Cup. The tenth anniversary season sailing race in memory of the outstanding financier and the father of the Ukrainian national currency, Vadym Hetman, was opened in June.

In this year’s program there were four types of races, including: races of cruising and cruising-racing yachts at distances of 100, 50 and 10 miles, races on TOPCAT catamarans, children’s competitions on Chico catamarans and competitions on 49-er Olympic class yachts which were included to the competition program of the annual sailing race for the first time this year.

The most prestigious award in the Ukrainian sailing — the Vadym Hetman Cup — was played among cruising, cruising and racing yachts. Amazonka yacht crew led by Captain Henady Ischenko received the chief trophy of the regatta.

On 23rd of January 2008, UniCredit Group finalized the acquisition of 94,2% total shareholders capital of Ukrsotsbank from the group of investors that were represented by international consulting company EastOne (shareholders’ saler) through Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG (BA-CA), which is responsible for commercial banking activity in CEE.
